We are a privately held company. We answer to our members, not to advertisers or acquirers.

PAYTONMAIL was founded in 2024 by a small group of operators, designers, and security engineers who had spent their careers building systems that, in retrospect, they would not have wanted to use. We chose to build the opposite.

The team operates from offices in New York and Zurich and remains intentionally small. Every member of the company holds equity in the service and uses it as their primary address.

How we are funded

PAYTONMAIL is funded entirely by membership dues. We have no advertisers, no data partners, and no venture capital pressure to grow faster than the service can bear. This is not an accident; it is the only way the math works.

What we measure

Our internal scorecard tracks four numbers: member retention, time to first reply from concierge, message delivery rate, and the volume of metadata our systems retain. The fourth number is the only one we actively try to make smaller.

Where we stand

We will never accept advertising. We will never resell membership data. We will publish, in writing, every government request for member information and our response to it.
